Sophie (Zsofia) Meszaros
Sophie (Zsofia) is a researcher at imec-SMIT-VUB as a member of the Data, Government, and Communities Unit.
Her professional interest pertains to user behaviour and innovative technologies. Accordingly, Sophie’s research is dedicated to developing a self-assessment tool for evaluating trust in data-driven and AI frontline service technologies in the use of digital twins. She conducts interdisciplinary research and employs both qualitative and quantitative research methods to then finally translate her findings into guidelines, requirements, and recommendations for practice.
Prior to joining imec-VUB, Sophie completed the Schuman Traineeship at the Innovation and Strategy Unit of the European Parliament Research Service. She also holds a Master in Digital Communication Leadership (policy track), an Erasmus Mundus Joint Master Degree of the University of Salzburg, Vrije Universiteit Brussel and Aalborg Universitet, Denmark where her thesis ‘Reverse Agenda-Setting untangling mis-/disinformation’ was awarded with excellence due to its innovative and explorative research method. During her studies she was part of the initial team launching the VUB AI Experience Centre.
