|Juanita Devis is a Researcher in Urban Design at imec-SMIT-VUB.|
She is passionate about cities and architecture, and her interest is to investigate how technology and urban data can provide insights to address their mobility, urban, environmental and societal challenges.
As a foreigner and woman, she is interested in the themes of inequality, and inclusiveness in cities.
Her background combines her domain knowledge in urban planning and architecture with working experience in smart cities, mobility, logistics and technology (data, visualizations and simulations, sensors, models, applications). She was previously a Researcher in Urban Design at imec EDiT. She was involved in the CityFlows and the TOKEN projects.
Until 2018 she was a CityScience Advisor for the City Science Group, at the MIT Media Lab, in the context of the “Andorra Living Lab” initiative, coordinating projects in urban simulation, cultural heritage, and education.
In 2014, she received the Master in Architecture at Politecnico di Milano, Italy.
While not working, you can find her travelling, sketching, or scuba diving.
