Personal Description

My career is focused on using technology and lots of data to analyze the different dynamics of urban spaces and improve the quality of life of their residents. I’ve been working at SMIT since 2018, and I will be supporting the quantitative research methodology of the department and undertaking projects related to analyze and visualize large-scale datasets for future research in smart cities.

Born and raised in San Ramón, Alajuela, Costa Rica, I studied Business Computer Science at the University of Costa Rica. Recently, I graduated from the Advanced Master programme in Artificial Intelligence in KU Leuven on the option of Big Data Analytics. Since 2011, my interest in data manipulation and analytics had led me to work on projects with industries like governance, transportation, hardware, and logistics. I also enjoy music festivals, films, traveling, food and go to a museum once in a while. Belgium is the right place for all of that.
