Strategy on inclusive digital transition

Elaborating the FPS Economy's strategy on inclusive digital transition, in order to reduce the digital divide and promote digital inclusion

Project Description

This research project, on the request of the Federal Public Service (FDS) Economy, consists in elaborating the FPS Economy’s strategy on the inclusive digital transition, in order to reduce the digital divide and promote digital inclusion. The research project consists of two main activities:

  1. The elaboration of the FPS Economy’s strategy on the inclusive digital transition, i.e. defining and developing the strategic and operational objectives of the FPS Economy for its target audience: economic actors, in particular citizens, as consumers
  2. The development of an action plan with concrete actions, operational and effective measures, in particular to: (1) eliminate inequalities in connectivity, for example by informing vulnerable people about the support they can receive and (2) propose mechanisms, actions and initiatives to make digital tools easier and more user-friendly, including for an adequate level of digital intensity

The role of SMIT

The research activities consisted of mapping ongoing policy initiatives on the inclusive digital transition, identification of needs and challenges within the policy domain of the FPS Economy and international comparative analysis.
