In policy brief #38, we studied whether news media with the same owner pay more attention to the ‘own brands’ in their journalistic output than to other media brands. A content analysis of articles from Het Nieuwsblad and Het Laatste Nieuws on the one hand and items from Het Journaal of VRT and Het Nieuws of VTM, on the other hand, shows that there is indeed more ‘in-house’ news.
