Our research group obviously depends on researchers, professors and students. Still, for them to do their jobs properly, so many other, more or less related tasks have to be fulfilled to create the necessary surrounding conditions. As the Project Administration Officer, I am among those that ensure these conditions to be as good as they can be. I have always had a passion for coordinating and managing teams of people, with a sympathetic ear for their needs and problems. But I also embrace the responsibility that comes with complex administrative work.
Before I came to SMIT, I worked in the aviation industry in another European country for eight years. The dynamism and creative atmosphere at SMIT is remarkable for someone who was part of a major international company for so long. My career at this company led to a position where I was responsible for a team of people that organised all crew training activities. We also developed a tool to improve the efficiency of e-learning. Although there was a point in my life where I wanted to go to flight academy myself, I instead graduated as psychologist in 2004 and did a postgraduate in Sports and Exercise Psychology.
