Before joining SMIT Olivier Braet worked for six years at the Faculty of Economics and Business Administration (Ghent University) as research-assistant in the management of information systems. Before that he was involved in the automation of the elections as an advisor at the Ministry of Interior Affairs, advisor at the Flemish Administration for Planning and Statistics, and researcher at the Flemish Parliament. He focuses on business modelling, strategic ICT-alignment, and the management of intangible assets such as intellectual and social capital. He has served on advisory boards in ICT-appropriation decisions, did consultancy on ERP and eBusiness implementations, and conducted research on entrepreneurship. He followed numerous courses, workshops and master classes, such as ‘Managing ICT’ at the Vlerick School for Management.
