Cultuur en Breedband
Broadband models for the Flemish cultural sector
01/12/2006 - 30/06/2007
Has been finalized

'Cultuur en Breedband' was a research project in which broadband needs and solutions in the cultural sector in Flanders have been analysed. Indeed, actual broadband infrastructures in the cultural domain are often inadequate for the distribution of large data files (a.o. video art). In the project the research consortium proposed potential solutions and policy actions, based on a domain analysis and user needs.

Research tasks are defined into four work packages:
- Broadband inventory (Overview of interesting broadband cases in the cultural sector)
- Broadband needs (Survey and interviews about broadband needs in the Flemish cultural sector)
- Broadband models (Potential models for the Flemish context)
- Policy recommendations (Potential role for policy)
