Master Class 9: Data & Privacy in Smart Cities
Join our upcoming master class on Data & Privacy in Smart Cities.
Cities and municipalities have access to a variety of data concerning their buildings, budgets, citizens, etc. Moreover, new possibilities to gather data emerge within a smart city context. How can cities and municipalities transparently gather, process, visualize and report these data in line with relevant privacy principles and regulations such as the General Data Protection Regulation?
During this master class organized by the VUB Chair on Smart Cities, Rob Heyman and Nils Walravens (imec-SMIT-VUB) will discuss what the possibilities are for those who want to set up city campaigns or technological solutions that involve data collection and how they can consider privacy from the very beginning. This is complemented with practical and legal perspectives on privacy by, respectively, Bart Rosseau (City of Ghent) and Bart Van den Brande (Sirius Legal).
Participation is free, but registration is required. Register here (in Dutch) or here (in French).
