iMinds-SMIT researcher Wendy Van den Broeck presented a paper at IEEE conference in Melbourne

Wendy Van den Broeck presented a paper entitled "Integrating the everyday life context in subjective video quality experiments", co-authored by An Jacobs (iMinds-SMIT) and Nicolas Staelens (iMinds-IBCN), at the IEEE conference in Melbourne, Australia. This conference focused on Quality of Multimedia Experience (Qomex) and took place from the 4th till the 7th of July, 2012.

The paper is about how Quality of Experience can be measured in the everyday life context of the user. The developed methodology of contextualised subjective tests complements the traditional ITU controlled lab-tests by focusing on consuming real-life content (e.g. full length movie) in a real-life context (TV-setting at home) with a quality evaluation after instead of during the experiment.
