Just after the bus accident that killed 22 childeren and 6 adults, the chief- editor of the Flemish newspaper ‘Het Nieuwsblad’, Liesbeth Van Impe, decided to publish all the pictures of the victims on the front page of the newspaper. Suddenly Liesbeth Van Impe was in the eye of a media storm. This decision shows the crisis of journalistic ethics. Moral boundaries are fading and the difference between empathy, curiosity, speculation, voyeurism and information will slowly disappear.
