Prof. Jo Pierson to give a lecture on 'Datafication, privacy and (dis)empowerment' at CNRS Paris.
Jo Pierson has been invited to give a lecture on ‘Datafication, privacy and (dis)empowerment’ for a seminar at the French CNRS Institut des sciences de la communication (ISCC) on Monday 2nd May 2016 in Paris (France). ISCC is part of l’Université Paris-Sorbonne and l’Université Pierre et Marie Curie (UPMC). His talk will discuss recent interdisciplinary research findings on how datafication and online platforms interact with today’s society, and the kind of social challenges this poses for privacy and empowerment of users/citizens/consumers. The discussant is Mélanie Dulong de Rosnay, researcher at CNRS-ISCC and in charge of the research group 'Information and Commons Governance’.
