Tim Raats criticizing current public broadcasting debate in De Tijd

In an opinion piece for the newspaper De Tijd, Tim Raats commented on the current debates taking place as part of the budget cutbacks and the management contract negotiations. Tim emphasizes the need for the public broadcaster VRT to develop a long-term vision on how it’s aiming at sustaining its distinctive position in the media landscape. He also calls for other (especially civil society) stakeholders to broaden current discussions and take part in the public debate. According to Raats, current debates also center too much around market discussions and debates most often echo the voice of private media players.
