The first tests of the ECIM-project are very positive
The European project ECIM intends to develop an application combining, as in a Lego bricks set, all the practical information and services in this area: parking, bike-sharing (Vélib'), car-sharing (Autolib'), public transport, car traffic, etc ...
A first version of the application has been tested for two hours by putting the tester in the shoes of an end-user going for a visit to a family member, to find a parking spot (on-street or underground) and to pay the parking through his mobile phone. The participants answered a questionnaire that identified the requirements of the future users and suggested changes to improve the application.
The testers agreed upon the usefulness of such concept and innovation of the application, they shared their first comments on the design that needs to be improved, on bugs that must be solved and several features that are not yet present on the application. The real-time data integration is, for example, intensely awaited and will represent a real added-value for the application. The ECIM application will then allow users to have an overall view of the options available for their travel.
