MEDIALAAN is the parent company of television and radio brands VTM, 2BE, Vitaya, JIM, VTMKZOOM, Q-music and JOE fm. The name first refers to our physical location (Medialaan 1 in Vilvoorde). On the other hand, it is most of all a symbolic place. It is a lane with nice buildings. Buildings where radio and TV programmes are produced, all of which have a place in the minds and hearts of the Flemish people. MEDIALAAN is a world where talent and ideas reinforce each other.
Our baseline ‘maak het mee’ (live the experience) refers to our viewers and listeners who experience our brands, our employees who actually play a part in making our brands and all possible partners that are involved in our story.
iMinds, Flanders’ digital research center, combines the forces of its 800+ researchers at five Flemish universities for conducting strategic and applied research in areas such as ICT, Media and Health. Together with its research partners (companies, governments and non-profit organizations), iMinds translates digital know-how into concrete products and services. In addition, iMinds supports researchers, young entrepreneurs and start-ups in the successful market introduction of their ideas.
SBS Belgium is the challenger of the Belgian television landscape, the company broadcasts two television channels in Flanders. VIER is the more generalist channel of the two: it aims at a target audience of PRP 18-54. VIJF aims at women between 20 and 49 years old. SBS Belgium is part of De Vijver Media. Over the past three years, De Vijver Media has spurred a dynamic change by developing the creative story of VIER, VIJF and the production company Woestijnvis on a stable footing.
