Launch Event of the Belgian Smart City Academic Network (B-SCAN)

iMinds-SMIT at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel and the Smart City Institute at the Management School of the University of Liège are proud to invite you to the launch of B-SCAN, the Belgian Smart City Academic Network.

The goal of the new network is to bring together leading academics from Belgium, working on the challenging and multi-faceted topic of Smart Cities. We would like to launch this network with a roundtable, to kickstart the exchange of knowledge and to get to know each other (better).

The roundtable will take place on 29 September 2016, in the iMinds-SMIT offices (Pleinlaan 9, 1050 Brussels, meeting room Marconi, 2nd floor) from 14:00 to 18:00. After an extended tour de table where everyone can briefly introduce themselves and their work, we will invite two Smart City academics to tackle aspects of the topic from very different angles.

We hope B-SCAN can stimulate the exchange of knowledge on Smart City research in Belgium and expand your network, leading to new insight and future cooperation.

We are looking forward to welcoming you in Brussels and would like to hear if you will be able to attend (via mail to and Feel free to circulate this invitation to interested colleagues.
